Erica and Mike are two of the most selfless people we’ve met. Both of them have chosen careers that require the patience of a saint and heart that always has more to give. We are blessed to have photographed Erica’s brother’s wedding this past spring, and were so excited to spend more time with this family. The details on Erica’s dress were beautiful. For her big day, Erica wore the veil her mother had worn, which was made by another family member. What a special touch.Mike cleaned up pretty nice too!The moment the groom sees his bride. This church, Shell’s Lutheran, is not only where Erica and Mike exchanged vows, but also where Mike proposed! The couple wrote their own vows and shared them in front of their friends and family. You may now kiss the bride! The most important photos Erica requested were probably these photos with their fur baby, Abe. They had even arranged for a family member to go pick him up after the ceremony and bring him to the church. Abe was more than ready for his moment in the spotlight!I love when I capture these unprompted moments of cuteness!December weddings are COLD! But we toughed it out for a few photos. One more before we run for shelter!Interestingly enough, the bridesmaids were fine with their group photo outdoors. This says it all. Mike may be superman, but make no mistake, Erica is just as super!Mike’s sister was able to arrange for indoor photos at the capitol building. The reception was held at the beautiful Carlisle Ribbon Mill.Mr. & Mrs.Surrounded by love, sharing their first dance. There wasn’t a dry eye in the room!True friends can make you cry and laugh at the same time. The Carlisle Ribbon Mill ballroom was perfect.Erica placed cow bells on each table. Their guests had no trouble figuring out their purpose! The whispering before the cake cutting led me to believe that they would play nice. In Mike’s defense, Erica struck first. How do you put a spin on a traditional garter/bouquet toss? You give the lucky “catchers” large bottles of whiskey, of course! To say that this family likes to party is an understatement. They have plenty of their own traditions, and we had so much fun documenting all of them. From “Low Places,” to last dance, we had a great time! Thank you Erica and Mike for inviting us along for the ride.
