When Hunter called and asked about scheduling a portrait session with his girlfriend, I got butterflies. I’m glad he couldn’t see my face, because I was waiting in anticipation. Hoping he would say it. And then he did! I couldn’t stop smiling from ear to ear.
Katie and Hunter had planned a weekend vacation to Lancaster to celebrate the four year anniversary of their relationship. Neither of them had ever been to Lancaster and they were looking forward to exploring the local scene and sampling Lancaster County cuisine. Katie had mentioned more than a year prior that she would like to have photos taken of the two of them.
Unbeknownst to Katie, Hunter decided to incorporate a session into their vacation. And, as if that wasn’t a nice enough gift, he also planned to propose during the session so that it could be documented! Hunter and I communicated back and forth regarding location, scenery, timing. We had a Plan A and a back-up weather plan.
Thankfully the week of their vacation predicted beautiful weather and our plan was set. Bryan and I tried our best to blend in as just another couple walking on a freezing afternoon, and apparently it worked! Katie had no idea we were there until after she said, “YES!”
Katie and Hunter, it was such a pleasure to capture this momentous occasion! Thank you for braving the winter wind and being so much fun!
